#TeamPatch YACrushTourney Update by @Megunz21 I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who voted for Patch! I have some specific people I'd like to thank but if I forget someone, PLEASE FORGIVE ME, it isn't intentional. (It's late and my brain is fried from staring at the twitter all day and my time spent in the twitter jail. Twitter jail - when you are denied access to your updates because you've reached your tweet/RT limit. It's real and it's not fun.) Here goes...   I'd like to thank the Academy (<-- I've ALWAYS wanted to say that) aka the FANTABULOUS girls at the YA Sisterhood for the opportunity to advocate for Patch. Thank you to Team Simon and his awesome advocate Benji !  His Simon post was fantastic and his Team Simon supporters were great competitors! (I happen to adore Simon, BTW) You can find Benji's blog here and you can follow him on twitter at @NonReluctant. <-- do this! *bosses you* Thank you

Destiny (Immortal #4) by Gillian Shields

Author: Gillian Shields Publication: July 31, 2012 By: Katherine Tegen Books 2 Stars In this fourth book of the Immortal series, Helen's story takes center stage but is told from various POV's.  Without having read the previous books in the series, I wasn't sure I would be able to follow along with the storyline but the author gives enough background that it was easy enough to catch up on what was going on.  This book has an overall theme of good vs. evil, self-sacrifice and shows that each one of us was created for a purpose greater than ourselves.  Having said that, I personally found the book to be a bit overly dramatic and Helen's character wasn't my favorite. She's whiny and moody to the point of rudeness and yeah, I understand she's grieving for her mother and doubts she'll ever find the kind of love her friends have but she didn't need to be so annoying about it. I'm not sure how fans of this series will react to the ending; I gu

Starring Me by Krista McGee

Author: Krista McGee Publication: July 10, 2012 By: Thomas Nelson 4.5 STARS! Great cover!  Kara McKormick is told she's auditioning to star in a new teen variety show. But it's what she isn't told that could change her life. The feisty New Yorker moves to sunny Orlando to participate in a month-long audition, where she'll live with nine other contestants and an eccentric housemother. Kara knows that the show already has a big-time celebrity lined up for the co-host, but she doesn't know who it is. Chad Beacon quickly rose to fame after winning America's Next Star, but he doesn't want his entire career to be about singing. There is so much more he wants to do-like act. The new variety show sounds like the perfect next step for him, but his parents want him to have a co-star who shares his faith since they'll be spending so much time together. Acting is high on Kara's priority list. But a relationship with God? Not so much. In

Impostor (Slide #2) by Jill Hathaway Publication: March 26, 2013 By: Balzar + Bray for Harper Collins      From Goodreads: What if a killer took control of you? Vee Bell’s gift (or curse) of “sliding”—slipping into the mind of another person and experiencing life, briefly, through his or her eyes—has been somewhat under control since she unwillingly witnessed the horrific deaths of her classmates six months ago. But just as things are getting back to normal, Vee has a very bizarre experience: she loses consciousness and finds herself in a deserted area, at the edge of a cliff, with the broken body of the boy who took advantage of her on the rocks below. As Vee finds herself in stranger and stranger situations with no memory of getting there, she begins to suspect that so

"Pushing The Limits" by Katie McGarry

Author: Katie McGarry Publication: July 24, 2012 By: Harlequin Teen 3.5 STARS!     "I won't tell anyone, Echo. I promise."Noah tucked a curl behind my ear. It had been so long since someone touched me like he did. Why did it have to be Noah Hutchins? His dark brown eyes shifted to my covered arms. "You didn't do that-did you? It was done to you?" No one ever asked that question. They stared. They whispered. They laughed. But they never asked.  So wrong for each other...and yet so right. No one knows what happened the night Echo Emerson went from popular girl with jock boyfriend to gossiped-about outsider with "freaky" scars on her arms. Even Echo can't remember the whole truth of that horrible night. All she knows is that she wants everything to go back to normal. But when Noah Hutchins, the smoking-hot, girl-using loner in the black leather jacket, explodes into her life with his tough attitude and surprising understand

I Loved You First by Reena Jacobs

Photo obtained from Goodreads Author: Reena Jacobs Publication: July 29, 2011 (Read July 2012) E-book provided by author in exchange for a fair review.  3 Stars My best friend was more than just a best friend to me. Three words summed it up: I heart him. I’d never tell him though. I wasn’t stupid. Besides, what he’d told no one, but me, was a little something I wished I could forget… or ignore. He was gay. I guess gay wouldn’t be bad if I wasn’t so in love with him. Now it was just cruel. Stereotypes run amok in this college love story: Parties, alcohol, hookups, and breakups. Alexandria Carmichael may find it a bit much as she deals with the unreturned love from the boy who completes her. When all is revealed, not only does she risk losing her best friend forever, but also herself. Without her childhood companion for support, Alexandria takes a journey of self-discovery but fears what she’ll find at the end. Thank you to author Reena Jacobs for this e-book
