5 Stars!

They thought they had escaped. They were wrong.

After fleeing the Branch with Sam, Cas, and Nick, Anna is trying to make sense of the memories resurfacing from her old life. At the same time, she's learning how to survive in hiding, following Sam's rules: Don't draw attention to yourself. Always carry a weapon. Know your surroundings. Watch your back.

Then a figure from Anna's childhood reappears. Is it a Branch setup, or could it be the reunion Anna has hoped for? Uncertain of where her loyalties lie, Anna must fight to learn the truth -- before she is betrayed again. Ultimately, the answers hinge on one question: What was the real reason her memories were erased?

Jennifer Rush delivers a thrilling sequel to Altered in a novel packed with mysteries, lies, and surprises that are sure to keep readers guessing until the last page is turned.

QUESTION FOR JEN: "If you had to trade places with one of your characters for 24 hours, who would it be and why?"

This is a hard question! Because all of the Altered characters have been beat up and shot at!

I think I'd probably want to trade places with Sam, only because I admire his strength, and his will, and his determination. I'm not at all like that! Also, he's stronger and faster than most humans. I think it could be fun to play around with those "superpowers".

Second to Sam would be Anna, of course, because she gets to kiss Sam. :-)

My Thoughts
I snagged this little gem once I got back home from BEA13 and I owe a HUGE thanks to Jennifer Rush's publicist for sending it to me!

What I LOVED: Action, suspense, romance and FEELINGS. ERASED is the heart-pounding,  sequel to ALTERED that I could not put down!

ERASED picks up where ALTERED leaves off and though Anna and the guys may have escaped the Branch (for now), they can't outrun her memories forever. Just when things seem like they're settling down; Anna is adjusting to her new life, and she and Sam are figuring out this whole relationship thing, a memory from her past becomes a living, breathing threat that sends them on the run again.

But this time, it isn't Sam whose by her side, it's Nick.
Samanna shippers are like, "WHAT THE WHAT?!"
Psst...it's going to be okay. ;)

A series of twists and turns keep the reader on the edge of their seat and it all leads to a shocking revelation, one that will leave Anna reeling and the reader clutching their feels. (And clutching Nick too.)

By the time the book ends, Anna will know the truth--about herself, the guys and all that was sacrificed in an effort to protect her. But Anna will also know that she's never been alone. She's always been surrounded by people who have loved and cared about her even if she couldn't remember.

What Left Me Wanting More: Can one every really have enough Sam, Nick or Cas? Yeah, I didn't think so either.

Final Verdict: FANFREAKINGTASTIC!

Favorite Quote: "I offered to give you mouth-to-mouth, but Sam vetoed. I don't know why. I said I wouldn't use tongue." ~ Cas  <-- THIS is why he is my favorite. ;D

And this.

About the Author
Jennifer Rush lives in a little town on the shoreline of Lake Michigan with her husband and two children. She grew up wanting to be an Egyptologist, but realized she hated the desert and declared herself a writer instead. She won her first writing award in the fourth grade (a Mickey Mouse pencil was the prize) and has been crafting stories ever since. In her free time, she likes to read, Photoshop, and consume large amounts of caffeine.

Her debut YA, ALTERED, released January 2013 from Little, Brown. The sequel to Altered, ERASED, releases January 7, 2014.

Her debut middle-grade, BOT WARS, released March 2013 from Dial Books for Young Readers. Its sequel, THE META-RISE, releases July 10, 2014. The Bot Wars series is written under the pen name J. V. Kade.

Just for Fun: This is part of an email that I sent to Jennifer Rush after I finished ERASED.

Okay, so, I've always been a really vivid dreamer but it's magnified since I became a  reader. My husband gets a little nervous whenever I read books like ALTERED, ERASED or FALSE MEMORY because I tend to beat the crap out of him while we're sleeping. :P

My ERASED dream is really random and went like this...
*there has been lots of running and dodging of bullets*

Nick: *looks at me* "Who the hell are you?"

Cas: "Relax Nicky, she's with me."

Nick: "What are you doing?"

Cas: "What's it look like Nicky? I'm eating. I need to refuel after that. That was a lot of running." *crams cupcake in mouth*

Me: "And shooting."

Cas: *grins at me* "And shooting. What kind is that?"

Me: "Twix."

Nick: "This isn't effing snack time you two! Hold on. Did you say, Twix? Like the candy bar?"

Me: *nods*

Nick: *steps closer and grins* "Have we met?"

Cas: "Back off Nicky, she and the cupcakes are with me."

Me: What Cas said.
