I go into EVERY book excited and hopeful that it will be the next one I shove down everyone's throat like,
you HAVE to read it!
Because I love books and I love authors!
But sadly, it doesn't always work out like that.
I've DNFd (Did not finish more books in the last month than I ever have in my four years of book reviewing.
Which leaves me feeling like,
That doesn't mean the books aren't good. It just means, for whatever reason, they didn't work for me.
But maybe you'll have better luck with them.
Here are few of the ones I wanted to love but didn't.

Why it didn't work for me: This one came highly reccommended from quite a few of my reader friends. Friends who share similar tastes as I do, but I just couldn't get into it.
I tried both the ebook as well as the audio but I couldn't connect at all with the characters and found the overuse of the phrase, "weeks passed", incredibly distracting. It already felt like not much was happening and I didn't want to reminded every few pages.

What didn't work for me: The back and forth was confusing thus causing the story to drag for me. I've been told it picks up towards the end, but by the 60% mark I had lost interest and no longer cared about what happened.

What didn't work for me: I WANTED TO LOVE THIS ONE SO BAD!
I've always been a vivid dreamer but it's gotten worse since I became a reader. Just ask my husband. There are times he refuses to share a bed with me if he thinks there's a chance I might try to beat him up in my sleep. Once, when my youngest was a toddler and still having trouble sleeping through the night, he came in and tried to wake me. I patted his arm and said, "Go back to bed. Mommy's busy helping the Cullens chase the bad vampires through the forest." True story.
So you can see how I thought this one would be the PERFECT BOOK FOR ME! But...it wasn't. I struggled from the first few pages, kept waiting for the hook to hook me, but it didn't happen. I AM hoping to come back to this one later. Maybe after the rest of the series is finished.

What didn't work for me: This is another one I wanted to LOVE because LOOK AT THAT GORGEOUS COVER, and it's Jeanine Frost writing Paranormal New Adult for cupcake's sake! But alas, I had trouble connecting with the characters. This is another one I might come back to once the series is finished. Maybe I'll have better luck then.
