Delacorte Press is pleased to announce the movie tie-in edition of THE SCORCH TRIALS, book two in James Dashner’s #1 New York Times bestselling MAZE RUNNER SERIES. Available in hardcover ($18.99), paperback ($10.99), and eBook ($10.99), THE SCORCH TRIALS movie tie-in edition will be on sale August 4, in advance of the Twentieth Century Fox film adaptation release on September 18. The Maze Runner series has sold 10.7 million copies in all formats, and the paperback edition of the movie tie-in will carry a first printing of 500,000 copies.

The movie tie-in edition of The Scorch Trials includes the original novel and features movie art on the cover, as well as an 8-page full-color insert with photos from the film and a foreword by director Wes Ball. The paperback edition will also include a sticker. The Maze Runner movie, which debuted last fall, was an international success, grossing over $340 million worldwide at the box office. The release of the second film in the franchise is highly anticipated, with fan favorites such as Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad) and Aidan Gillen (Game of Thrones) joining original cast members Dylan O’Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, and Ki Hong Lee. The buzz continues to build on a daily basis.

First published in October 2010, The Scorch Trials was an eagerly awaited follow-up to The Maze Runner and was hailed as “intriguing and surprising,” “fast-paced,” and “action-packed.” It is the second book in the series, which in addition to The Maze Runner includes The Death Cure and The Kill Order. A hardcover box set of all four novels will also be available on August 4. A fifth novel in the series, The Fever Code, a prequel to The Maze Runner, will be published in August 2016 and will tell the story of how Thomas and the Gladers came to find themselves in the Maze, how the Maze was created, and the true nature of WICKED.

Look for the third novel in Dashner’s bestselling Mortality Doctrine series, The Game of Lives, on sale November 17, 2015, wherever books are sold, and meet James on his six-city tour (details to be posted this fall on TheMazeRunner.com).

James Dashner is a CPA turned full-time writer and is the author of the #1 New York Times bestselling Maze Runner series, the New York Times bestselling Mortality Doctrine series, the Thirteenth Reality series, and two novels in the Infinity Ring series.
